A trauma-informed practice that understands the importance of creating a space that feels physically and emotionally safe.

Safety. Compassion. Connection

I work from an attachment based, trauma informed lens; I provide compassion and sensitivity to my clients, understanding that their struggles may be the result of a deeper issue that needs tending to. Together, we will explore the parts of you that feel neglected, wounded and that make day to day life difficult; and offer opportunity and strategies for healing.

I am comfortable working with people in both short and long term capacities. I am committed to helping you build self-awareness and understand your struggles differently but most importantly to provide space and strategies for healing

The Work

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a therapy approach that identifies people as having different sub-personalities or “parts” that make up their personality/mental system. These sub-personalities develop different roles for us, and sometimes carry pain of past experiences and trauma (similar to what we would consider an inner child). IFS focuses on getting to know the different parts of our system in an open and compassionate way; while strengthening our access and relationship to our core self (our grounded adult self) so that we can show up for these parts differently.

Sensorimotor Interventions -

Sensorimotor psychotherapy is body-based, talk therapy, integrating current findings from neuroscience to transform traumatic memories into strengths and resources for the client. The process uses mindfulness techniques to help clients notice what happens in their body during the recall of traumatic and stressful events and then supports the client in discovering internal resources to process these findings.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, time limited approach that helps individuals identify their thinking patterns, and physiological sensations, and how these are associated with behaviours that interfere in their life. These unhelpful patterns are assessed and clients are taught to challenge them in a way that can bring a shift in overall behaviour.
